Manufacturing Production Coordinator / Planner

 

Position Summary

 

Detail orientated with excellent analytical, communications and organizational skills required to coordinate workflow between various disciplines of engineering, manufacturing and subcontractors. Ability to interpret and comply with project specifications.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Interfaces with Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering and Purchasing to develop & implement manufacturing plans for various custom projects
  • Review drawings and job requirements
  • Prepare bill of materials & work with purchasing to order materials
  • Analyzes prior time to complete operation and works with Mfg. Engineering to implement efficiency improvements
  • Utilizing Vantage, produces job routers for the shop and QC
  • Provides analysis and participates in make/ buy decisions where appropriate
  • Working with Engineering, drives uniformity of parts where appropriate
  • Identifies work bottlenecks in advance and seeks alternatives to manufacture
  • Ensure that jobs progress through manufacturing and are completed / shipped on time

 

Required Education and Experience

 

  • Associates degree or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Epicor/Vantage system preferred
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Solid Works a plus

 

 

CNC PROGRAMMER

Position Summary

The CNC Programmer position coordinates the activities of CNC programming providing accurate, efficient, well documented and archived programs for the machine shop.

 

Responsibilities

  • Recommend procedures for cost reduction and continuous improvement
  • Ability to generate and edit NC code thru all shop processes in an accurate and timely fashion
  • Ability to work independently and in group setting.
  • Follows procedures for NC code and file saving
  • 2D and solid model programming
  • Assume additional related responsibilities as assigned
  • Be available for overtime during high volume seasons

 

Required Education and Experience

 

  • Able to read blue prints.
  • 5+ years’ experience programming CNC lathes, milling centers, wire EDM, and water jets machines.
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Working knowledge of machine shop mathematics
  • Working knowledge of GD&T
  • Working knowledge of Cad-Cam systems, SoildWorks, and BobCAD a plus

 

 

 

MACHINISTS

Position Summary

The Machinist position sets up and operates machines (CNC or manual horizontal lathes, large manual vertical turret lathes); performs progressive machining operations for equipment with extremely close tolerances; fits and assembles where necessary; interprets and reads blueprints in the performance of duties; and, uses a combination of jigs, fixtures and assemblies to perform machining operations.

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform all assigned machine shop operations.
  • Regularly perform milling, turning, drilling, tapping, de-burring, sawing and sanding tasks.
  • Ability to interpret and navigate through CNC programs (if applicable).
  • Set up machinery to successfully conduct the run as specified
  • Ability to multi task or operate additional machines when required.
  • Check CNC machinery is in good working order before operating.
  • Acknowledge that all machine guards and safety switches are intact and operable
  • Perform assigned direct labor following blue prints, established procedures and using inspection reports.
  • Examine and inspect the first article produced to ensure quality
  • Monitor the run throughout the cycle, checking that specifications are met
  • Maintain all tooling and achieve proper expected tool life.
  • Abide by all safety standards at all times
  • Report any safety or maintenance concerns to management immediately
  • Keep all work areas clean and organized
  • Strive to meet quotas without compromising quality
  • Hold self to a high standard of quality, taking pride in your work
  • Attend all safety and production trainings
  • Be available for overtime during high volume seasons

Required Education and Experience

  • High School/Technical School graduate or equivalent.
  • Three or more years of related experience.
  • Short run/prototype experience.
